Calculate resulting force from belt tensions and wrap angle.

Converts force quantities to newtons and angle to radians, validates physical constraints, then computes the resulting force magnitude.

Parameters:
  • belt_tension_upper (Quantity) – Upper (tight side) belt tension quantity.

  • belt_tension_lower (Quantity) – Lower (slack side) belt tension quantity.

  • wrap_angle (Quantity) – Wrap angle quantity (angle dimension).

  • unit (str, optional) – Output unit, by default "kilonewton".

  • precision (int | None, optional) – Decimal rounding precision, by default 2. Use None to skip rounding.

Returns:

Resulting force in requested unit.

ValueError – If unit conversion fails or physical constraints are violated (negative tensions).
